::BRASOV - THE GOLDEN STAG POP FESTIVAL::

Before the MTV Music Awards were created, an event was needed to inspire local and international musicians to greatness. The Goldes Stag festival became this event, an international pop music festival where, much like Eurovision, different artist from arround the world could came and compete.

Throughout the years, The Goldes Stag has been held in the muontais city of Brasov, Romanian and has featued major European and International pop stars. The Stag has olso a special gift for discovering young singers who eventually became famous.

Example of well-known artist, whose international debus occurred on the Stag stage, are Julio Iglesias and Christina Aguillera, who participated in the contest a few years ago.

Prior to publishing of this magazine, a date for thi year’s festival was yet to be determined. Among past years guest performances were touse Riky Martin, Simple Minds, Pink, Ronan Keating and Gloria Gaymour.

The festival will take place in Brasov’s medieval square, just a few yards from Biserica Neagra( Black Church) – a spendid 14 century Gothic monument. A traditional Romanian folk music performance will close the festival.

In previous years, numerous countries have been represented at The Golden Stag, including UK, Italy, US, Canda, China, Lithuania, Finland, Malta, Holland and Germany. The contest grants prizes: the Golden Stag Trophy, best pop-solo artist perforance, best pop-rock performance and three People’s Choice Awards for each category. Each of the festival’s four day will end with special conerts by local and international pop musicians. The concerts will begin at 8:30 every night, in the Piata Sfatului medieval square in Brasov.
